Lol were you paying attention at all ?the witches actually like Subaru lmao. I don't know how you didn't figure that out from that episode of Subaru with the witches. The witches actually hate Emilia because of something Emilia's mom did but they haven't revealed what it was that her Mom did just yet. Emilia's mom was a human. She inherited her elf side from her father who was fortuna's older brother. Her mother did something in the past that pissed off all the witches but the novel still hasn't revealed what it was that she had done. The witches like Subaru which was confirmed by the author. They are drawn to him for some reason but Satella is the only one out of the sins that actually has a reasons why she likes him. The working theory is that satella is probably Emilia from a different timeline where Subaru had died which led to her coming to this timeline to save Subaru by giving him an ability that would prevent him from dying which was the return by death ability. The theory is that that's the reason why she is so possessive of Subaru because she had already lost him once. That's also why she keeps saying that Subaru saved her which Subaru has no recollection of. She is probably referring to her version of Subaru saving her just like he did with Emilia.
